Our club is dedicated to furthering the sport of collegiate bass fishing here in Happy Valley. Our members range in experience, from interested newcomers to skilled tournament anglers. Newly established in Fall 2006, the Penn State Bass Fishing Club has a bright future with high expectations.
Anglers in the Penn State Bass Fishing Club have the opportunity to fish competitively in some of the best bass fishing lakes in the country. Our club competes against other college teams all over the United States. Several of our tournaments are nationally televised events.
In our first semester of existence, the Penn State Bass Fishing Club placed fifth in the Big Ten Classic in Madison, Wisconsin, and participated in the Fox College Sports National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship in Lewisville, Texas. In Spring 2007 we secured a second place finish in the Fox College Sports Big Ten Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship at Lake Newton, Illinois.
Anglers here at Penn State have a great opportunity to hone their skills because of our emphasis on sharing information and knowledge of fishing. For those who may not have much angling experience, we strive to hold local events that provide enjoyable bass fishing for everyone. We realize that catching fish of any kind or size is the goal of most newcomers, so we try to keep it simple and fun. Any Penn State student who is interested in fishing should contact one of our officers. |
